Sailing the Waters of Hope

Year 3 - Southern Hemisphere

Throughout the school year, our students have experienced the wonders of Australia, many of the South Pacific islands - known as Oceania - and the icy chill of Antarctica! We have been in contact with with St. Monica's School in Footscray, Australia, which is situated near the city of Melbourne. Click here to see St. Monica's.

This Australian Animals website was created by Year 5 students at Rochedale State School.

Culmination Day

What a wonderful experience! Kudos to all who prepared and participated in our culmination activities. Our invited guests were most impressed with the displays of all we accomplished and learned during our voyage to the Southern Hemisphere. The one aspect our guests continuously commented upon was the evidence of community cooperation and enthusiasm necessary to accomplish all we did. Thank you for representing our school so well.

Special thanks to Chef Antonios K. Boulos from the Almond Tree Manor in Alpha, NJ for gifting our school with the cross ice sculpture displayed in our Antarctica section.

First Annual SSPJ Regatta!

Our first Regatta was very successful! The students, grades Pre-k through 8, created many unique and beautiful ships. There were many close races, but with the help of our finish photographer, we have our winners!

Our first place winner is Christopher B. in fourth grade.
Our runner up is Christopher J. in first grade.
Great job to everyone who participated!
