Dear Family!

The Doctrine of Trinity is called a ‘mystery’ because this truth can never been known by reason alone. Only God can reveal the truth to us (CCC 261). This is not unique to Christianity: it transcends all religions and is a key ingredient of universal life and culture (Diarmuid Murchu). The Trimoorthy of Hinduism, the Buddhist doctrine of the three bodies, the Zoroastrian triplicate of Zurvan, the Egyptian cult of Isis, Seraphis and the divine child Horus and some thirty thousand years of traditional Trinitarian worship in the prehistoric times all point to the same One God seen in three persons.

We all possess a certain ‘nature’ when we say, ‘it’s my nature’. A person can possess a nature and not the other way around. ‘Person’ and ‘nature’ answer two different questions. ‘What is it?’ – NATURE. ‘Who is it?’ – PERSON. Further, we all can understand that our nature decides what is possible for us persons. I the person; nature is the source of our operations (F J Sheed). The same is applied to the Trinity. What we should be careful here is that 1. These three persons don’t share the divine nature 33.333, 2. They are distinct but not separate.

The doctrine can only make sense if it is understood in terms of Love and not in terms of administration. It is not about fixing but rather loving. “The ancient wisdom that we share is: everything is created out of relatedness, sustained through relationships and thrives on interdependence”. If God is love, he or she better teach us what love is all about; what relationships are all about and what interdependence is all about! Thus, we turn to Trinity for all those answers. Trinity is all about love and unity in fullness.

Diocesan Jubilee Pilgrimage to the National Shrine in Washington, DC, (Sept. 20)

Transfer of priest in our Parish: There were a quite a few transfers this year in our diocese. Our Bishop has transferred Father Fredy Triana Beltran from our parish to minister as Holy Family Parish, New Brunswick effective August 1. We will be welcoming Father Alexander A Charles, the Parochial vicar from Mary, Mother of God, Hillsborough to our parish on August 1. Please pray for these two priests in their transition and thank them for their ministry.

150th Anniversary of Catholic Education in Phillipsburg
As the anniversary approaches near, there are preliminary preparations that need to happen. We need to form a leadership team to plan and execute. We are looking for volunteers to be part of the leadership team. All are welcome!

Jubilee Year 2025: (Jubilees in June)
The following are the Jubilees for the month of June: On the 14th & 15th of June we have the Jubilee of Sports, 20th - 22nd we have the Jubilee of Governments. Since we are so close to the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, we have Jubilee of Seminarians (June 23 & 24), Jubilee of Bishops (June 25), Jubilee of Priests (June 25-27) and we complete the month of June with the Jubilee of Youth (From June 28th to July 3rd)

Thank you to all the blood donations: Last week the diocese was recognized by North Jersey Blood Services as the 2024 overall top producing organization for blood donations. Parishes and other entities of the diocese together donated 1,763 pints of blood in 2024. We thank all those who donated blood and continue to encourage you to do so because there is a great need for blood.

Quo Vadis (Office of Vocations invites Young Men ages 14-17): The diocese has 9 men already expressed their desire to enroll in this program from four different parishes (Visitation in New Brunswick, St. Thomas in Old Bridge, Immaculate Conception in Annandale and St. Joseph’s in North Plainfield). Please contact me or one of the clergy for more information.

School Breaks for Summer: Our strong appreciation to all the Parents, students, and Teacher for their dedication to Catholic Education this year. As you break for summer, we wish you and pray for you to have a restful summer and return with renewed energy! We continue to look for new parents to bring in their children to our school.

Our appreciation to Parish Fundraising Committee: We thank all the volunteers and members of the Fundraising Committee for all the efforts in preparing and selling Multi-cultural food on Pentecost Sunday. The money raised will be used for the repairs of the parish buildings. I thank all our parish families who have taken part in the celebration. More than the needed funds, it brings us together and we need more of these celebrations that unites us!

Santísima Trinidad

¡Querida familia!

La doctrina de la Trinidad se considera un «misterio» porque esta verdad nunca puede conocerse solo mediante la razón. Solo Dios puede revelarnos la verdad (CIC 261). Esto no es exclusivo del cristianismo: trasciende todas las religiones y es un elemento clave de la vida y la cultura universales (Diarmuid Murchu). La Trimoortia del hinduismo, la doctrina budista de los tres cuerpos, el triple zoroastriano de Zurvan, el culto egipcio a Isis, Serafín y el niño divino Horus, y unos treinta mil años de culto trinitario tradicional en la prehistoria, todos apuntan al mismo Dios único, representado en tres personas.

Todos poseemos cierta "naturaleza" cuando decimos "es mi naturaleza". Una persona puede poseer una naturaleza, pero no al revés. "Persona" y "naturaleza" responden a dos preguntas diferentes: "¿Qué es?" - NATURALEZA. "¿Quién es?" - PERSONA. Además, todos podemos comprender que nuestra naturaleza determina lo que es posible para nosotros. Yo soy la persona; la naturaleza es la fuente de nuestras acciones (F. J. Sheed). Lo mismo se aplica a la Trinidad. Debemos tener cuidado aquí: 1. Estas tres personas no comparten la naturaleza divina 33.333; 2. Son distintas, pero no separadas.

La doctrina solo tiene sentido si se entiende en términos de amor y no de administración. No se trata de arreglar, sino de amar. «La sabiduría ancestral que compartimos es: todo se crea a partir de la conexión, se sostiene mediante las relaciones y prospera gracias a la interdependencia». Si Dios es amor, más le vale que nos enseñe qué es el amor, qué son las relaciones y qué es la interdependencia. Por lo tanto, recurrimos a la Trinidad para encontrar todas esas respuestas. La Trinidad se centra en el amor y la unidad en plenitud.

Peregrinación Jubilar Diocesana al Santuario Nacional en Washington, DC, (20 de septiembre)

Traslado de sacerdote en nuestra parroquia: Este año hubo varios traslados en nuestra diócesis. Nuestro obispo trasladó al padre Fredy Triana Beltrán de nuestra parroquia a la parroquia de la Sagrada Familia en Nuevo Brunswick, a partir del 1 de agosto. El 1 de agosto daremos la bienvenida al padre Alexander A. Charles, vicario parroquial de María, Madre de Dios, en Hillsborough. Les pedimos que oren por estos dos sacerdotes en su transición y les agradezcan su ministerio.

150.º Aniversario de la Educación Católica en Phillipsburg
A medida que se acerca el aniversario, es necesario realizar preparativos preliminares. Necesitamos formar un equipo de liderazgo para planificar y ejecutar. Buscamos voluntarios para formar parte del equipo de liderazgo. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

Año Jubilar 2025: (Jubileos en junio) Los siguientes son los Jubileos del mes de junio: el 14 y 15 de junio, el Jubileo del Deporte; el 20 y 22, el Jubileo de los Gobiernos. Por la proximidad de la Solemnidad del Sagrado Corazón, se celebran el Jubileo de los Seminaristas (23 y 24 de junio), el Jubileo de los Obispos (25 de junio), el Jubileo de los Sacerdotes (25-27 de junio) y, para completar el mes de junio, el Jubileo de la Juventud (del 28 de junio al 3 de julio).

Gracias a todas las donaciones de sangre: La semana pasada, la diócesis fue reconocida por North Jersey Blood Services como la organización con mayor producción de donaciones de sangre en 2024. Las parroquias y otras entidades de la diócesis donaron en conjunto 1763 pintas de sangre en 2024. Agradecemos a todos los que donaron sangre y los animamos a seguir haciéndolo, ya que existe una gran necesidad de sangre.

Vacaciones de Verano: Agradecemos profundamente a todos los padres, alumnos y docentes por su dedicación a la Educación Católica este año. Durante las vacaciones de verano, les deseamos y oramos para que tengan un verano tranquilo y regresen con energías renovadas. Seguimos buscando nuevos padres que traigan a sus hijos a nuestra escuela.

Nuestro agradecimiento al Comité Parroquial de Recaudación de Fondos: Agradecemos a todos los voluntarios y miembros del Comité de Recaudación de Fondos por su esfuerzo en la preparación y venta de comida multicultural el Domingo de Pentecostés. El dinero recaudado se utilizará para la reparación de los edificios parroquiales. Agradezco a todas las familias de nuestra parroquia que participaron en la celebración. Más que los fondos necesarios, nos une, ¡y necesitamos más celebraciones como esta!
