Dear Parents,

A warm welcome to those re-enrolling and those enrolling for the first time in the 2025-2026 St. Philip & St. James RC Church Faith Formation Program. Our Pastor, Clergy, Parish Catechetical Leader, Catechists, and Volunteers are privileged in journeying with you in passing on our Catholic Faith to your children. As with most learning moments during a child’s early years, parents are the primary mentors in passing on their faith to the children.

In order to assist you and also that we may prepare accordingly, please keep the following in mind:

• Families that wish to enroll their children in our program must be registered parishioners of St. Philip & St. James RC Church. If you are not currently registered please call the office and request a Family Registration Form.
• Our program runs from first through eight grades.
• Sacramental years are:
  • First Communion in 2^nd
    • The Diocese of Metuchen requires two years of preparation, which are First year Communion Prep (1^st grade) and Second year Communion Prep (2^nd grade).
  • Confirmation in 8^th
    • The Diocese of Metuchen requires two years of preparation, which are First year Confirmation Prep (7^th grade) and Second year Confirmation Prep (8^th grade).

Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 9, with Mass at 4:30pm in the Church, 430 S. Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. And then on Tuesday, September 16, at 4:30pm the children are to go to the SSPJ Catholic School at 137 Roseberry St. Phillipsburg, NJ.

The fee for the SPSJ Faith Formation Program is $125 for one child; $175 for two & $220 for three or more children. Payment is due by August 29^th, checks should be made payable to Church of St. Philip & St. James and brought to the church office.

Estimados padres,

Una cálida bienvenida a quienes se reinscriben y a quienes se inscriben por primera vez en el Programa de 2025-2026 Formación en la Fe de la Iglesia St. Philip & St. James. Nuestro párroco, clérigos, líder catequética parroquial, catequistas y voluntarios tienen el privilegio de acompañarlos en pasar nuestra fe católica a sus hijos. Como ocurre con la mayoría de los momentos de aprendizaje durante los primeros años de un niño, los padres son los primordiales en pasar su fe a los niños.

Para poder ayudarlos mejor y también para nosotros estar preparados, tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:

• Las familias que deseen inscribir a sus hijos en nuestro programa deben ser feligreses registrados de la Iglesia St. Philip & St. James. Si no está registrado actualmente, llame a la oficina y solicite un Formulario de Registro Familiar.
• Nuestro programa comienzan en el primer grado y continúan hasta el octavo grado.
• Los años sacramentales son:

Primera Comunión en segundo grado.

La Diócesis de Metuchen requiere dos años de preparación, que son el primer año de preparación para la Comunión (primer grado) y el segundo año de preparación para la Comunión (segundo grado).

Confirmación en octavo grado.

La Diócesis de Metuchen requiere dos años de preparación, que son el primer año de preparación para la confirmación (séptimo grado) y el segundo año de preparación para la confirmación (octavo grado).

Las clases comenzarán el martes 9 de septiembre con la misa a las 4:30 pm en la iglesia, ubicada en 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. El martes 16 de septiembre, a las 4:30pm los niños asistirán a la escuela católica SSPJ, ubicada en 137 Roseberry St., Phillipsburg, NJ.

El costo del Programa de la Formación en la Fe es de $125 por niño; $175 por dos y $220 por tres o más niños. El pago debe realizarse antes del 29 de agosto en la oficina de la iglesia, los cheques deben hacerse a nombre de “Church of St. Philip & St. James” y entregarse en la oficina de la iglesia.
