Dear Family!

Reflection: The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us, "The Church is a cultivated field, as tillage of God. On that land, the ancient olive tree grows whose holy roots were the prophets and in which the reconciliation of Jews and Gentiles has been brought about and will be brought about again. That land, like a choice vineyard, has been planted by the heavenly cultivator. Yet the true vine is Christ who gives life and fruitfulness to the branches, that is, to us, who through the Church remain in Christ, without whom we can do nothing" (CCC 755).

As God asks the fortunate countries in the first reading, “What more was there to do for my vineyard that I had not done?’ The Gospel today reminds us of our responsibility in watching over the vineyard of the Lord. As God has blessed us and our country, our gratitude must be shown in producing good grapes and welcoming the Son and His words. Our gratitude is expected in giving to God what belongs to God. We are indeed blessed!

Talking about our responsibility in watching over the vineyard of the Lord, Pope Francis revealed the new document he has been preparing on September 21 at the Vatican: Laudate Deum - Praise God is expected to be published on October 4th. The new document, he said, is "a look at what has happened" since 2015 and a look at what still "needs to be done.”

Thank you: The Sixth Eucharistic Revival Seminar presented by Fr. Brian Nolan was a great success, thank you for participating in community learning. I continue to encourage you to make use of these opportunities to learn as a community so that your family can grow close to the Eucharistic Lord. The 72 Disciples ministry continues to serve the parish in hosting these seminars. Our sincere thanks to all the members of this ministry. Our sincere thanks to Fr. Pat for doing a wonderful prayer-service for the Blessing of Animals. It was great to see all the lovely pets and praying with them!

Priests Convocation: October 10-12 all priests are at the Convocation - a special time with the Bishop (Once a year). We spend these important days for prayer and sharing of our brotherhood. We request you to pray for us especially in these days of Convocation for our shared responsibility in serving you, the people of God. In place of mass on these days, we will have communion service presided over by a Deacon.

Bible Study: There has been a considerable number of requests for Bible Study in our parish. We are starting our Bible Study on October 25th at 5pm in Mercy Hall. Please call the parish office for a suggested book for reference. We will begin our Bible Study with the Gospel According to St. Mark. There will be study till leading up to Christmas Season.

Orchestra Concert: November 24th, at 6pm we will have Orchestra ‘St. Peter by the Sea’. It is a very important fundraiser for the education of our children. I request you to purchase tickets and be part of this fundraiser. If you would like to help us with selling tickets, please call the parish office. We need your help in selling tickets.

Parish Census: I thank the Legion of Mary in helping us with the Parish Census which is ongoing. As a parish we are obligated to give the diocese the right count on how many parishioners we have. It also helps us to prepare and plan our daily affairs like budget and future planning. It is also important to update our parish census as to sacramental entries, deaths and absence of people due to change of address etc. I thank all volunteers in being part of this important obligation.

All Ministry Revision: With the advent of Fr. Wilson, we are revising all the ministries in our parish. Please contact your ministry leaders and be informed of changes and revisions. Do not hesitate to ask help from any clergy. We are here to serve you!

¡Querida familia!

Reflexión: El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica nos enseña: “La Iglesia es un campo cultivado, como labranza de Dios. En esa tierra crece el olivo milenario cuyas santas raíces fueron los profetas y en el que se ha realizado la reconciliación de judíos y gentiles. "Ha sido hecha y será hecha de nuevo. Esa tierra, como una viña escogida, ha sido plantada por el cultivador celestial. Pero la vid verdadera es Cristo que da vida y fecundidad a los pámpanos, es decir, a nosotros, que por la Iglesia permanecer en Cristo, sin el cual nada podemos hacer" (CIC 755).

Como Dios pregunta a los países afortunados en la primera lectura: “¿Qué más podía hacer por mi viña que yo no hubiera hecho?” El Evangelio de hoy nos recuerda nuestra responsabilidad de velar por la viña del Señor. Como Dios nos ha bendecido a nosotros y a nuestro país, nuestra gratitud debe demostrarse produciendo buenas uvas y acogiendo al Hijo y sus palabras. Se espera nuestra gratitud al darle a Dios lo que le pertenece. ¡Estamos realmente bendecidos!

Concierto de Orquesta: 24 de noviembre a las 6pm tendremos la Orquesta ‘St. Pedro junto al mar”. Es una recaudación de fondos muy importante para la educación de nuestros hijos. Les solicito que compren boletos y sean parte de esta recaudación de fondos. Si desea ayudarnos con la venta de boletos, llame a la oficina parroquial. Necesitamos su ayuda para vender entradas. Hablando de nuestra responsabilidad en velar por la viña del Señor, el Papa Francisco reveló el nuevo documento que está preparando el 21 de septiembre en el Vaticano: Laudate Deum - Alabado sea Dios, cuya publicación está prevista para el 4 de octubre. El nuevo documento, dijo, es "una mirada a lo que ha sucedido" desde 2015 y una mirada a lo que aún "hay que hacer".

Gracias: La Sexta Charla de Avivamiento Eucarístico presentado por el P. Brian Nolan fue un gran éxito, gracias por participar en el aprendizaje comunitario. Continúo animándolos a aprovechar estas oportunidades para aprender como comunidad para que su familia pueda acercarse al Señor Eucarístico. El ministerio 72 Discípulos continúa sirviendo a la parroquia organizando estos seminarios. Nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a todos los integrantes de este ministerio. Nuestro más sincero agradecimiento al P. Pat por realizar un maravilloso servicio de oracion por la Bendición de los Animales. ¡Fue genial ver a todas las adorables mascotas y orar con ellas!

Convocatoria de Sacerdotes: del 10 al 12 de octubre todos los sacerdotes están en la Convocatoria, un tiempo especial con el Obispo (una vez al año). Dedicamos estos días importantes a la oración y al compartir de nuestra hermandad. Les solicitamos que oren por nosotros especialmente en estos días de Convocatoria por nuestra responsabilidad compartida de servirles a ustedes, el pueblo de Dios. En lugar de misa en estos días, tendremos un servicio de comunión presidido por un diácono.

Estudio Bíblico: Ha habido un número considerable de solicitudes de Estudio Bíblico en nuestra parroquia. Comenzaremos nuestro Estudio Bíblico el 25 de octubre a las 5 p.m. en Mercy Hall. Llame a la oficina parroquial para obtener un libro sugerido como referencia. Comenzaremos nuestro Estudio Bíblico con el Evangelio Según San Marcos. Habrá estudio hasta la temporada navideña.

Censo Parroquial: Agradezco a la Legión de María por ayudarnos con el Censo Parroquial que está en curso. Como parroquia estamos obligados a darle a la diócesis el recuento correcto de cuántos feligreses tenemos. También nos ayuda a preparar y planificar nuestros asuntos diarios como el presupuesto y la planificación futura. También es importante actualizar nuestro censo parroquial en cuanto a entradas sacramentales, muertes y ausencias de personas por cambio de dirección, etc. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios por ser parte de esta importante obligación.

Revisión de todo el ministerio: con la llegada del P. Wilson, estamos revisando todos los ministerios de nuestra parroquia. Comuníquese con los líderes de su ministerio y manténgase informado sobre los cambios y revisiones. No dude en pedir ayuda a cualquier clérigo. ¡Estamos aquí para servirle!
